I'm out of writing power, so here's a preview list of the topics I'll hit tomorrow:

• Williams's way of dealing with the rankings
• How Williams policies improved our standings
• How other schools have done much worse stuff
• The impact of low "reputation" response rates.
• Poor incentives and their consequences.
• How rankings get used.

This will probably be followed by a post about why Williams is the best college in the country for all of its unquantifiable factors.
